How To Make A Fabric Pumpkin Pillow For Halloween

This year, instead of carving a pumpkin for Halloween, make this fabric pumpkin pillow. It’s easy to do and the best part is that these pumpkins are reusable! You can store them until next Halloween and they will last until then. And they’ll definitely come in handy when you need a quick decoration. Make one or several and spruce up your home for the spookiest season of the year.

Supplies That You Need

You will need about a yard of fabric for the front and back, with an extra two feet for the hanger. You’ll also need a few feet of ribbon so that you can tie it on the hanger.

Making The Pillow

First, cut out the pattern of a pumpkin that you can find below.

Then, cut the fabric into three pieces: two circular pieces and one square piece.

Pin the square piece to the middle of the circular pieces and sew it all together with a sewing machine.

*Note: If you are using a thicker fabric, like fleece or flannel, use a zigzag stitch to avoid making seams from ripping easily.

Next, stuff with polyester fiberfill until it is full without being too stuffed.

Sew up the hole in the bottom of each pumpkin by hand using a needle and thread.

Lastly, attach some ribbon around the top to finish it off!

Where To Put Your Pumpkin?

To make a fabric pumpkin pillow, you’ll need just a few things. You’ll need an orange or green cotton sheet that is at least 30″ by 16″. Then cut the sheet into strips to create the pumpkin shape. Next, sew up the outer edge of the strip and turn it inside out so it looks like a pumpkin. You can also sew on some googly eyes for extra effect.

The next step is to find a place for your new pumpkin. Think about where you want to place it in your home before sewing it up because some places might be more visible than others. For example, you might want to put your fabric pumpkin over your fireplace, against a window, or near a doorway. Consider what would be most visible when people enter your home and keep that in mind when picking a spot for your pumpkin pillow.

After you’ve found the perfect spot for your new fabric Halloween decoration, sew around the top of the pumpkins until they look like pumpkins with flat tops and sew on small buttons for stems (or use pipe cleaners if desired). And there you have it! Your very own fabric pumpkin pillow – now you can enjoy Halloween all year long!

Making a fabric pumpkin pillow is a great way to prepare for Halloween. It is also a fun and easy project that can be completed in an afternoon. The pillow can be made with basic sewing skills or by using a sewing machine. If you want to add some additional embellishments, you can always do that too!
